Servicing the intermodal industry for over 20 years
We have been servicing the container industry within the Port of New York and New Jersey for over 20 years.
Throughout the years, we have witnessed the industry’s growth and changes firsthand. Recognizing and embracing these changes, we have expanded our services accordingly.
Our roots go back to 1987, when Vincent Ferrone Jr. started the company with just one truck, operating the business from a small room at his New Jersey residence. Through the dependability of this sole truck, we grew to a fleet of five by 1990.
From 1990 to 1996, Vincent focused on establishing Diamond Freight as the premier Intermodal service provider within the Port of New York / New Jersey. With this goal in mind, he saw the opportunity to involve his son James in the day-to-day operations.
As the company continued to grow, facilities were expanded to include a new office in Rockaway, New Jersey and a one-acre operational office in South Kearney, New Jersey. In 1997, Vincent’s other son Nicholas came on board to assist with the company’s operations and finance.
Centrally-located 5-acre facility near Port Newark
In 2002, Diamond Freight relocated to a centralized location at a five-acre facility located one-quarter mile from the waterfront of Port Newark. James and Nicholas Ferrone continue to manage the company, and a full staff of well-trained, competent employees are readily available to handle a variety of Intermodal needs.
